Tesla Mobile App 2021 Features:
The Tesla app puts owners in direct communication with their vehicles and Powerwalls anytime, anywhere. With this app, you can:
- Check charging progress in real time and start or stop charging
- Heat or cool your car before driving – even if it's in a garage
- Lock or unlock from afar
- Locate your vehicle with directions or track its movement
- Send an address from your favorite apps to start navigation in your car
- Allow your passengers to quickly control media
- Flash lights or honk the horn to find your vehicle when parked
- Vent or close the panoramic roof
- Summon your vehicle out of your garage or a tight parking space (for vehicles with Autopilot)
- Update your vehicle software from wherever you are
- Engage with Powerwall: monitor how much energy is stored from solar, used by your home, or exported to the grid
- Download your solar production and battery usage data

Tesla Mobile App 2021 Info:
Car Owners: Your car must be delivered and have mobile app access enabled in order to use the Tesla app. You can enable and disable mobile access by going to ‘Controls’ and then ‘Safety & Security’ on your car’s touchscreen.
After taking delivery, if you are having trouble logging into your Tesla Account, make sure you are using the correct email and password. For additional information, visit Account Support.
If you are experiencing performance issues with the app, the following troubleshooting steps can also be used:
- Logging out and logging back in
- Powering your phone off and on
- Deleting and reinstalling the app
- Note: For Model 3 this will require you to repair your Phone Key
Powerwall. Download the Tesla app and explore the available features:
- Power Flow. Monitor your Powerwall and home energy use in real time and receive notifications about utility power outages.
- Self-Powered. Track how much energy you generate with Powerwall, which reduces your reliance on utility grid power.
- Energy Usage. View a live graph of your daily, weekly, monthly or annual energy generation and consumption for full visibility into your home’s energy ecosystem.
- Backup History. View a history of utility power outages. You can track the day and duration of the outage.
- Customize. Select between two modes: Self-Powered or Backup Only. By selecting Self-Powered mode, Powerwall will store solar during the day and power your home at night. You can also set a backup reserve. If you anticipate an outage due to bad weather, you can select Backup Only and reserve 100% of Powerwall if it occurs.
Solar.Download the Tesla app and explore the available features:
- Solar Production. View your system production and energy flow in real time, including live graphs by selecting ‘My Home.’
- Energy Impact. Monitor your energy offset and solar usage by selecting ‘Impact.’
- Energy Usage. Combined with Powerwall, you can track your home energy consumption by selecting ‘Energy Usage’ if applicable.
- Referral Program. Share your unique referral link with potential owners to earn exclusive rewards when they purchase or subscribe to solar panels.
Powerpack. Powerpack owners are granted access after commissioning by the Tesla team.
- Power Flow. Monitor your Powerpack, solar and site energy consumption in real time.
- Energy Usage. View a live graph of your daily, weekly, monthly or annual energy generation and consumption, as well as Powerpack charge and discharge activity.
- Power Outage Notification. Receive real-time notifications of power outages and know when Powerpack begins powering your site.
- Powerpack owners should submit any inquiries about the Tesla mobile app experience via the Online Support and Ticketing Portal.
