2026 KIA EV6 GT Review, Specs, Price

The 2026 Kia EV6 shines thanks to potent powertrains, confident handling, lots of cool features and an impressive maximum driving range. While it's a bit short on cargo space and the infotainment controls can be irksome, this Kia’s combination of value, style and performance makes it a strong contender among electric SUVs. The 2026 Kia EV6 compact electric SUV is a veritable Swiss army knife. Finding an EV6 that meets your needs is simple thanks to Kia's signature attention to design and features, a roomy five-passenger cabin, and a variety of rear- or all-wheel-drive powertrain options. Although it costs around $20,000 less, the Light Standard Range single-motor base model is slower. Every EV6, regardless of power, is responsive and enjoyable to drive. Additionally, it has remarkable charging capabilities; with a 350-kW DC fast charger, it can charge a battery from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes or less.

The price of the 2026 Kia EV6 is expected to start around $45,000 and go up to $66,000 depending on the trim and options. Light $45,000. Wind $52,000. GT-Line $56,000. GT $66,000. the top-spec 642-hp GT and its heroic performance, but team figure most EV buyers are more interested in maximum driving range over maximum speediness. Team suggest the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive Wind trim for such people, not only because it is the least expensive option for getting all-weather traction, but also because the two motors produce 320 horsepower combined, which is more than the single motor's lesser power output. Maintaining driving range is another benefit of using the standard 19-inch wheels.

The EV6 is an agile companion on twisty roads because of its quick and predictable steering. Although the ride may feel a little too hard on uneven ground, this Kia's low center of gravity gives it a rooted sensation. However, the EV6's harmony of sharpness and stability makes it suitable for the majority of driving types. Powertrain options include dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants that have greater kick, which are perfect for passing and merging on the highway, as well as single-motor rear-wheel-drive systems that accelerate smoothly and steadily. From practical to performance-focused, the EV6 ranges from 167 horsepower in the Light trim to 641 horsepower in the powerful GT edition. The rear-drive variant gets by with 167 or 225 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive vehicles may produce either 320 or 641 total horsepower. With rear-wheel drive, midrange trims like the Light Long Range, Wind, and GT-Line generate 225 horsepower, while those with all-wheel drive generate 320.

At test track, the 320-hp, AWD GT-Line model zipped to 60 mph in just 4.5-seconds. That'll get you to the next EV charging station plenty fast. The rear-wheel drive model provides more range but it also needed 6.7 seconds to reach 60 mph in testing. If you prioritize maximum straight-line performance, the GT has you covered; in testing, it rushed to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. The entry-level Light rear-wheel drive model comes with a 63.0-kWh battery pack with a EPA-estimated range of 237 miles. All other EV6s are equipped with an 84.0-kWh unit. Compared to last year's model with a slightly smaller 77.4-kWh pack, the EPA's range estimates for the larger pack land are up 9 and 13 miles, respectively, at 319 miles for RWD and 295 miles with AWD. The powerful GT has a range of only 231 miles, while the GT-Line with AWD reduces to 271 miles. In addition to having an operational voltage of 800, Kia claims that when connected to a 350-kW fast charger, its battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in less than 18 minutes.

The infotainment system incorporates popular features like wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, and it can be upgraded to a Meridian unit with 14 speakers. The infotainment system is operated by a 12.3-inch touchscreen that is an extension of the EV6's 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, but the design and performance of the menu structure and navigation are unimpressive.

Although the EV6's interior layout and design lack the boldness of the vehicle's outward style, it nonetheless looks sleek and contemporary. Despite lacking front-seat footrests and a center console that slides back and forth like the Ioniq 5, the EV6 combines high-tech features like a huge, digital dashboard screen with useful features like a floating center console with ingenious storage options. The two-tone, two-spoke steering wheel, the large start button on the central console, and the well-placed gold accents around the cockpit are further noteworthy features. The EV6 has a flat floor and a wheelbase—the distance between the front and rear wheels—that's as long as the three-row, mid-size Kia Telluride's, so passenger space is generous. There are also 28 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seat and 54 cubic feet in total with the rear seatbacks folded flat. There's more storage space under the front trunk, too, but it's not as big as expected.
