2025 Land Rover Discovery Review, Specs, Price
The Land Rover Discovery in 2025 Adventure-loving families who also want a sophisticated daily commuter may find it to be an attractive option because it is more comfortable and opulent than the Bronco but more durable and reasonably priced than the Range Rover. Nothing among the well-known European luxury manufacturers offers as much adaptability as Land Rover's portfolio. The Discovery has a more opulent interior and greater off-road capability. The Lexus GX and Jeep Grand Cherokee L are therefore the most likely substitutes, with the Jeep benefiting from more roomy third-row seats. One of the top off-road vehicles in the premium midsize SUV segment is the seven-seat 2025 Land Rover Discovery. It also has a modern multimedia system, a luxurious interior, and a comfortable ride on pavement. But the more attractive and powerful version is expensive, and the base engine is a little lackluster.
Only the Comfort, Technology, and Cold Climate packages offer many of the Discovery's prior stand-alone choices. All models now come with fog lamps as standard, and carefully chosen alternatives for adventure riders and dog owners are introduced. Depending on the model and extras, the 2025 Land Rover Discovery can cost anywhere from $61,825 to $81,425 in pricing. P300 S $61,825. Dynamic P300 SE $65,825. Dynamic P360 SE $71,625. $81,425 for the P360 Metropolitan Edition. With its LED taillights, metal inside trim, and distinctively designed front and rear bumpers, the intermediate Dynamic variants of the Discovery portfolio provide the finest value. The P300's turbo-four engine is standard, but if you prefer the more potent inline-six-cylinder engine, go for the P360.
Although the all-wheel-drive Discovery has a smooth and elegant ride, its high center of gravity makes it appear larger than it actually is and results in obvious body lean when turning. Additionally, there is hardly much steering feedback. A four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque is the basic Discovery engine. Although it is sufficient for daily driving, the optional turbocharged six-cylinder with 355 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque is perhaps a better option if your daily routine involves carrying a full load of passengers or freight or climbing mountains. The turbo-four can pull up to 3,000 pounds, and the six can haul up to 3,500 pounds. Even rough bumps are easily handled, and the ride quality is generally excellent. However, there is little steering sensation, particularly on-center, where a big dead spot necessitates repeated steering adjustments while driving on the freeway. The Disco can tow up to 8200 pounds if a hefty load is on the docket.
The six-cylinder Discovery reached 60 mph at our test track in 6.3 seconds. Although we have not tried it, Land Rover predicts that the four-cylinder model will reach 60 mph in 6.9 seconds. While the hybridized six-cylinder powertrain is rated for 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, the EPA predicts that the turbocharged four-cylinder variant will achieve 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Our six-cylinder test car barely got 22 mpg on our interstate fuel-economy test at 75 mph. to learn more about the fuel efficiency of the Discovery.

The Discovery's straightforward yet elegant interior is filled with high-quality materials. Everything is well-made, and the occupants are surrounded by plush couches. The second row almost matches the 40-inch headroom in the front row. In the third row, it descends to 37.9 inches. There is plenty of legroom for everyone in the first two rows, but the third row will be crowded. There is not much room for cargo when the third-row seats are occupied. When those seats are pulled down, you have 35 cubic feet of space, and the second row can be folded flat to make an amazing 70.5 cubes when not in use. Both a hands-free liftgate and a power liftgate are standard.
Good support and even better cushioning are provided by power-adjustable, heated leather seats with an optional massage function for the driver and front-seat passenger; second-row seats provide fore-and-aft and recline adjustments. There would be fewer chances for adventure if there was not enough room to transport equipment. The Disco's roomy cabin was able to accommodate 29 of our carry-on bags when both of the back rows of seats were folded. However, the maximum number of carry-ons the Discovery can accommodate lowers to just two behind the third row if the last row of seats is turned up and the entire complement of seven would-be explorers is loaded upon it.
Land Rover's Pivi Pro infotainment system is standard on all Discovery models. Along with various cutting-edge features including an inbuilt Wi-Fi hotspot driven by a 4G LTE data connection and real-time traffic and weather updates, it has a 11.4-inch touchscreen display. It can be updated over the air and has a straightforward menu interface. Up to nine USB connections may be found throughout the cabin, and kids can be entertained in the backseat with innovative tablet-holding devices. It comes equipped with a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, a full-color head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A head-up display is one of the few available upgrades, but all the usual driver-assistance functions are included. In order to increase safety when driving off-road, Land Rover also offers a unique 360-degree external camera system that shows what is directly underneath the Discovery's front end, the area that the hood blocks off. Visit the websites of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to learn more about the Discovery's crash-test results. Standard adaptive cruise control, standard lane-keeping assistance, and standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian recognition are important safety features.
With most coverages valid for four years or 50,000 miles, Land Rover's warranty plan is utterly mediocre. Land Rover offers cheap maintenance packages that may be ordered through the dealer and cover the Discovery for up to four years, even though the Discovery does not come with free scheduled maintenance. The limited warranty is good for 50,000 miles or four years. The powertrain warranty is good for 50,000 miles or four years. No free planned maintenance.
