2026 Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback
With superb driving characteristics and a respectable amount of power, the 2026 Audi Q4 e-tron is an opulent and attractive electric vehicle. But others match or surpass it in almost every category, making it difficult to pick one over its numerous outstanding rivals. Audi's compact electric crossover is a capable EV with lots of technology, but it is not very good. The sportback has an elegant look, a tech-rich cabin, and a smooth ride. When you think of Audi, you probably think about two things: all-wheel drive and technology. The Q4 e-tron electric crossover satisfies the first half of the brief very well, however the entry-level 45 only has a single rear motor and rear drive, while the more potent 55 version has a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system. None of the Audi's specifications stand out in the segment, even though the Q4 e-tron is sufficiently distinct from the Volkswagen ID.4 that it shares its compact-SUV base with. Although it is not as much pleasure to drive as other of the more pleasant EV SUVs in its class, its driving demeanor is best described as poised. Both the charging speed and the range of a full battery pack—258 miles for the more potent 55 variant and 288 miles for the 45—are mid-pack. It is true that Audi has produced a compact EV SUV that performs adequately to avoid offending anyone, but it falls short of being a sparkling star.
This year, Audi streamlined the Q4 portfolio by removing the top Prestige trim level and expanding the mid-range Premium Plus. The latter now has a 360-degree surround-view camera system, a Sonos-branded sound system, and the Park Assist Plus self-parking capability. On Q4 e-tron 55 models, there is now a Vision package that comes with matrix-style LED headlights, headlight washers, and a head-up display. If you choose the Black optic pack, the 55s will now have black exterior trim and Audi interlocking-ring badges. Depending on the model and options, the 2026 Audi Q4 e-tron might cost anywhere from $51,895 to $64,795. $51,895 for Premium 45. $56,395 for Premium Plus 45. $57,295 for Premium 55. $60,295 for the Sportback Premium 55. $61,795 for Premium Plus 55. $64,795 for the Sportback Premium Plus 55. We will let you choose between the sleeker Sportback body shape and the standard squareback, but we would suggest the Premium Plus trim for both. A power-operated liftgate, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, SiriusXM satellite radio, a wireless smartphone charging pad, keyless entry, and other features are added to the Premium's standard equipment. We would opt with the AWD 55 because of its additional power, but the RWD 45 is the powertrain to consider if you want the longest driving range.
The rear wheels of the entry-level Q4 e-tron 45 are powered by a single 282-hp electric motor. We have not yet had an opportunity to test drive the Q4 e-tron with this configuration. The all-wheel-drive Q4 e-tron 55 and Q4 e-tron Sportback 55 versions generate 335 horsepower with an electric motor driving each axle. The Q4 e-tron has courteous driving manners, a smooth ride, and a small turning radius that makes the Audi feel reasonably nimble. Additionally, Audi recently made handling enhancements. We saw significantly more accurate steering and slightly more steady cornering. The Q4 e-tron 55's 5.0-second 60-mph time is tied by the 355-hp base Porsche Macan EV.

Although it can not pull much, the Q4 e-tron can tow. The 55 powertrain has a somewhat greater capacity (2650 pounds) and is probably easier to pull with than the 45 powerplant, which can handle 2200 pounds. Just keep in mind that when an EV has a trailer attached, its range drastically decreases. With the regular single-motor 45 drivetrain, the Q4 e-tron's 77.0-kWh battery pack can reach an EPA-rated 288 miles per charge; with the all-wheel-drive Q4 e-tron 55, it can go up to 258 miles per charge. The Q4 e-tron Sportback 55 covered 220 miles in our real-world highway range test at 75 mph. According to Audi, all models are now capable of rapid charging at up to 175 kW and can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes. This is slower than the class-leading Genesis GV60, which Genesis claims can charge to the same level in just eighteen minutes. The Q4 charged from 10% to 90% in 36 minutes during our testing.
Although the 2025 model received ratings of 107-125 MPGe city, 92-104 MPGe highway, and 100-115 MPGe combined, the EPA has not yet provided fuel-economy data for the 2026 Q4 e-tron. We do not anticipate that its fuel efficiency figures will alter in 2026 if the lineup remains unchanged. Miles per gallon of gas equivalent, or MPGe, is an EPA statistic used to assess the fuel efficiency of PHEV and EV vehicles. for additional details regarding the fuel efficiency of the Q4 e-tron.
First Row: The Q4 e-tron's cabin serves as a technical showcase for the brand's newest and best devices, just like other Audi vehicles. A squared-off steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls is one of its special characteristics. Five people may sit in both the Q4 e-tron and the Q4 e-tron Sportback. We believe a little additional cushioning would be beneficial for those seats. Second Row: The interior passenger area is comparable to that of the somewhat bigger, gas-powered Q5. There is sufficient, if not ample, rear legroom. If you want to transport six-footers frequently, bear in mind that choosing the Sportback results in a modest reduction in rear headroom. Cargo Capacity: The Q4 e-tron can accommodate eight carry-on bags behind the back seat and a total of 22 when the seat backs are folded.
11.6-inch touchscreen for infotainment. Connectivity includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and Android Auto. Audio system: 19-speaker Sonos stereo (optional), 10-speaker stereo (standard). The most recent iteration of Audi's MMI system is found in the Q4 e-tron. Standard features include a 10.3-inch digital gauge display and a big 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen that is tilted toward the driver to make its many menus and features simpler to access. Additionally, Audi provides a head-up display with an augmented reality function that can project data into the driver's field of vision, such as driver-assistance warnings or navigation instructions.
Numerous driver-support technology features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping aid, and automated emergency braking, are included in the Q4 e-tron variants. Standard safety features include automated emergency braking and forward collision warning, blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability. Visit the websites of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to learn more about the Q4 e-tron's crash test results. The bigger Q8 e-tron SUV is covered by the same limited and powertrain warranty as the Audi Q4 e-tron and Q4 e-tron Sportback. Limited Warranty: 50,000 miles or four years. 50,000 miles or four years is the powertrain warranty. Warranty on electric components: 100,000 miles or eight years. Free upkeep for three years or thirty thousand miles.
