2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 Review, Specs, Price
Taking an already opulent, fashionable, and capable packaging and making it faster, quieter, and smoother, the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 is like its gas-powered sibling on steroids. It has lightning-fast charging times as well. The only drawbacks? Many competitors have a longer range, and it costs more than the gas version. The Electrified GV70 is a fast, opulent, and stylish vehicle that provides a similar experience to its internal combustion sister, but with an electric twist. It has a beautifully furnished interior, powerful acceleration, and an upscale appearance.
With an electric drivetrain and lots of curb appeal, the Electrified GV70 is a high-end showpiece from Genesis. The Electrified GV70 is not as performance-focused as competitors, despite having two electric motors that provide 483 horsepower combined and a 60-mph pace of only 3.8 seconds. Rather, the GV70 is a comfortable crossover for commuting and road trips since its driving manners lean toward the quieter and more sophisticated end of the spectrum. The cabin is lined with premium materials and has high-end features including soft leather seating, a panoramic sunroof, and a huge digital display screen on the dashboard. For those who must travel farther between charging station stops, longer-range competitors like the Cadillac Lyriq and the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV are superior, but Genesis will narrow the difference somewhat with a recently improved battery. Fortunately, the Genesis' elegance and luxurious interior design more than offset its few shortcomings.
The Electrified GV70 follows its gas-powered sibling into 2026 with a revised front grille and bumper, updated headlamps, and new wheel designs. Inside, a new 27.0-inch widescreen display serves as both a gauge cluster and an infotainment interface, while the climate control panel has been relegated to a new, separate touchscreen on the center console. The 2026 Electrified GV70's marginally larger battery pack, which will boost range, is the most significant change, though. Although Genesis has not provided any estimations as of yet, any more range is appreciated considering that the 2025 model was only rated for 236 miles between charges. Depending on the trim and extras, the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 can cost anywhere from $65,875 to $76,845. Base $65,875. $70,745 in advance. $76,845. Prestige. We would pay more to upgrade to the mid-range Advanced trim, even though the Electrified GV70 is well-equipped from the start with standard equipment like a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Parking sensors, a 360-degree video system, four-zone automatic climate control, 20-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable steering column, a heated steering wheel, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering are all included for the additional cost.
The Electrified GV70 comes equipped with all-wheel drive and generates 483 horsepower from two motors, one on each axle. The Electrified GV70 provides a smooth ride and feels light on its feet in corners, just like its gas-powered sibling. The Electrified's brake-pedal feel is inconsistent from regenerative braking to the point where friction braking kicks in, which is our main grievance with its road manners. At our test track, the Electrified GV70 reached 60 mph in a mere 3.8 seconds, making it the fastest iteration of Genesis' small SUV. When we tested the standard 2022 GV70 with the optional twin-turbocharged V-6, it took 4.9 seconds to reach 60 mph. At higher speeds, the EV's thrust did not diminish either; it outperformed the six-cylinder vehicle by 2.7 and 3.2 seconds, respectively, at the 100 and 130 mph thresholds. Our test driver saw that the EV GV70's acceleration times to 60 mph improved by around 0.3 to 0.4 seconds when Boost mode was used. At 111 mph, the Electrified GV70 finished a quarter-mile pass in 12.3 seconds.

In 2026, the Electrified GV70 will have a somewhat bigger battery, increasing its driving range. Although the exact amount of range has not yet been determined, the 2025 model's smaller battery allowed for up to 236 miles of driving between charges, according to EPA estimates. The Electrified GV70 traveled 190 highway miles during our testing before requiring a recharge, but we will need to evaluate the SUV when the 2026 model arrives in the United States. With a DC fast-charging connection, the Electrified GV70's fast onboard charger has a maximum capacity of 240 kW. According to Genesis, that is sufficient to charge the battery at a public station from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes. According to the EPA, the electrified GV70 should achieve a city fuel economy of 98 and a highway fuel economy of 83. Only 51 MPGe was achieved by the Electrified GV70 on our highway fuel economy route at 75 mph.
The inside of the Electrified GV70 is identical to that of its gasoline-powered counterpart, so it has an equally striking appearance and a luxurious atmosphere. We enjoy how the inside is lined with high-quality materials and maintains the exterior's flowing lines. The smaller control surfaces and knurled metal shift dial evoke Bentley finishes. The luggage area is almost the same as the gas variant, and the interior room is suitable for the compact-SUV class. With the back seats folded, we can fit 22 carry-on bags in total, including seven behind the back seats. The most recent version of Genesis' software interface is displayed on a huge 27.0-inch widescreen infotainment display that is prominently mounted on the dash. Wireless connections are required for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to function. A Wi-Fi hotspot is included with every model, and a high-end Lexicon sound system is an optional feature.
Every Electrified GV70 model comes equipped with a comprehensive set of driver-assistance systems, including as adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Visit the websites of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to learn more about the Electrified GV70's crash-test results. Important safety features consist of: automatic emergency braking that is standard. Lane-departure warning is aided by standard lane-keeping. Lane-centering adaptive cruise control is available.
Compared to most other high-end automakers, the Genesis brand offers exceptional warranty coverage that lasts for a very long time. The GV70 has free planned maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, as well as powertrain coverage for up to ten years or 100,000 miles. Similar free maintenance coverage is provided by the Volvo EX40, although its powertrain policy is less than half that of the Genesis. Five years or 60,000 miles are covered by the limited warranty. The powertrain warranty is valid for 100,000 miles or 10 years. Three years or 36,000 miles are covered by free maintenance.
